Sandy Heenan is originally from Burke, Virginia and started working with pets professionally at a local veterinary office when she was still in high school. She started in the kennel and worked her way up to technician, receptionist and then to office manager. With more than 30 years in the veterinary field, she is passionate about the health and happiness of all creatures.
Sandy attended George Mason University and received her Bachelor of science in biology, after which she returned to the veterinary field. In 2010 she retired as veterinary office manager to concentrate on being a full-time mom. Now that her son is attending school, she returned to working with pets, a job that she loves and knows best. She lives in Alexandria with her husband David, son John and two cats, Luna and Geddy. She would love to have chickens and is waiting for the day that Alexandria will allow it.
